Summer Family Dreamcations
My kids look forward to summer break because they know there will be some travel adventures and relaxation during this time. Summer trips were a tradition in my family during my childhood, so that is one tradition that I continue with my kids. But a course the kids have some favorite places they like to revisit during the summer like Cali beaches with Gigi or exploring the east coast with granny. I like to do some research for summer trips, ideas and places that we have not explored before just to create some new memories. Also, to get the best deals and rates for lodging, airfare, rentals, etc. So recently I read an article about the "Top 2018 Family Vacations" which I was surprised by a few of the destinations on the list like New Orleans, Bali and a few more. Here are a few of my favorite places on the top list of vacation spots and brief highlights of what to expect;
Charleston, South Carolina
Charleston’s peninsula location means water is everywhere. There are beaches, a fantastic aquarium, boat rides, mild weather, and Argentinian ice cream. South Carolina Aquarium, Charlestown Landing for historic displays of the original settlement as well as a zoo, a historic plantation like Magnolia or Middleton Place, and an area beach on Isle of Palms, Folly Beach, or Kiawah Island.
Oahu, Hawaii
The destination is a small island and the place for nature lovers. Families can stay in the heart of the tourism district in Waikiki Beach, or head to popular quiet spots like Ko Olina and the north shore. Waikiki Beach is your typical tourism district with lots of shopping and restaurants alongside a beautiful sandy beach. Exploring the beautiful island is a must and before leaving you must indulge in some island shrimp and some shaved ice for the sweet tooth. Also, along the beautiful beaches you may spot some sea turtles or whales.
Caribbean island of Curaçao
The island boasts one of the most delightful mixes of cultures, beautiful beaches, rainbow of architectures, historical backgrounds of a vibrate trading port, 42 different ethnicities with multiple languages and a short 3 hour flight from Miami.
Maldives
It’s an island paradise, so it attracts a lot of honeymooners, but it’s also remarkably kid-friendly. Stunning turquoise waters and beaches; excellent kids clubs; kid-friendly activities, including ping-pong, kayaking, and snorkeling; great food; and over water hammocks perfectly positioned for sunset. While researching I have found that most people enjoy the over the water villas due to its easy access to the water.
Keep the family traditions going strong!
