Dinner With Friends...
Here in AZ, it's the time of year to start hosting a few small dinner parties for your family, close friends or girlfriends. The weather is beautiful and just right for a gorgeous outside set up. My circle of friends and I love to eat and enjoy each other's company with conversation and/or a little tea. It's a great time to indulge in some great food and laughter. I also love hanging out with other couples, so a nice intimate setting is always inviting.
You do not have to go over the top, spend lots of money and theme inspired dinners are always a lot of fun. After or during dinner, we like to play games like Table Topics (comes in Teen, Family & Couple versions), If You Had To (similar to Cards Against Humanity), His or Hers 10 Questions, Who's Most Likely To, Loaded Questions and many others. Most of these games can be found on Amazon or at local retailers like Target and Walmart. Here are a few themes for any environment you may be in..
City-scape Dining- We all know in the city outdoor space comes at a premium cost and limited space. This is a great idea on how to maximize your space. The skyline is a beautiful backdrop or view when dining with others. Adding some outdoor lighting, candles, comfortable seating, a pop of color is a great way to bring the indoors outside. It's a great setting for cocktails.
Theme Inspired-Safari Theme; This is a great way to introduce authentic spices, foods, and drinks from other countries.
When I think of the country side- I think of home-style menus, a warm and hearty meals. I love this set up overlooking the mountains. I could imagine how beautiful this setting is at night with candles and a fire.
Beach Cuisine- This is a great and soothing place to hang out. Beach friendly food that requires a minimum of cooling is always a great choice unless you are attending a beach BBQ. This intimate setting is a great way to get to know someone or hang out with the ones you love. You could bring a blanket or light fire on beaches that are permitted in cooler temperatures. Very soothing environment to relax and watch the sunset.
